Philips Hearlink 9050 Reviews

Hey folks,

Hope you’re all doing well. It’s been about 5 years now and I believe I’m due for an upgrade after sending in my KS9’s yet again to be serviced due to a failing microphone.

When I went to Costco, I had my eyes on the Philips HearLink 9050’s for quite some time, and I believe they would best suit my needs in terms of speech in noise. However I remain ambivalent about making the switch due to having been on Phonak hearing aids since I was 9 years old.

What I’m looking for is to hear more about these hearing aids from those who have them. What do you like or dislike about them? What boxes do they tick for you? How is the battery life if you’re just using them as hearing aids and not making phone calls or listening to music on them? How is speech in noise?

The speech in noise is probably one of my concerns. I’m not going to say that will solve every single situation, and I understand that everyone has different levels of hearing loss, but what I’d like to know is how do you perceive the AI sound processing? Is it a positive experience? A negative experience?

I’d really like to pick your brain on the reviews of the HearLink 9050 in this topic so I can go back and forth between which brand I will settle on. For me, it’s one thing to read a brochure, and it’s another thing for me to go into the store and purchase hearing aids… However, I don’t have the funding for them right this very moment, so I’m taking this time to get a little more information from the community.

Thank you, and have a wonderful morning/afternoon/evening/night!

I think you probably get better and faster results by searching for the 9050 reviews and threads that already exist and read up on them, rather than issuing a call for reviews on this thread and sit and wait for inputs to come into here, simply because folks who already invested their time reviewing their experience of the 9050 might not want to repeat the whole thing here again. After all, the 9050 has been out for a while now and is not that new anymore.

Hi JJTheJetPin,
I just joined this forum after found your question.

Too bad you didn’t get more answer more and useful answers.

I have been using Signia charging go 5X for years but their battery life is too short now and $700 to replace a battery… Sounds like a good time to look for an upgrade.

My audiologist is recommending Phonak 6600 or something that cost $6600. I’m looking at comparisons of those and Costco’s best which run about 1600. Hard to find comparisons of such an old hearing aid, but I’m thinking the discount store ones are about on par with my five-year-old expensive ones.

What did you end out doing?
Thanks!
Ralph

Time to dump that clinic, outrageous price, don’t hesitate to pop over to your nearest Costco.

Which old are you referring to? The older Signia X right, yeah I wouldn’t bother trying to compare with the latest models, the “discount” store being Costco they only have the latest premium models for around $1600 which are far better technology then the basic 5X your using.
