3 weeks using Sennheiser from Costco

I upgraded Phonak Marvel with large mold in the ear five years old to Sennheiser.
This is what is working well:
Natural Sound of voices
Ease of Charging rechargeable
Tv conncector works well for music and radio
Remote for volume easy to use and small enough to carry
Small mic that someone can attach to collar in a noisy place
Wonderful clear conversations on the phone. A friend told me I am asking her to repeat less on the phone.

This is what is not working:
The automatic speech in noise and directional microphone is not offering any improvement over the Marvels
I have tried the manual “restaurant” and played with the volume and there is no improvement.
The fitter adjusted the hearing aids to make the automatic speech in noise sharper at the 2 week appointment and still no improvement.
Is there any thing else I could try? I am thinking of taking them badk and trying the Rexton Reach or waiting until Costco has something new.

I went to COSTCO recently for a hearing test, the first in four years, thinking I would try the Sennheiser aids. The very good hearing specialist reprogrammed my KS10 aids and told me to wait a year or two before thinking about replacing them.

I’m not surprised that you are not experiencing much improvement in hearing-in-noise.That improvement came with the newer Phonak Sphere model.

Maybe return them and wait for Phonak to release a Sennheiser based on the newer Phonak Sphere.

Of the hearing aids currently sold at Costco, the Jabra 30 would be the most likely to have some improvement in hearing-in-noise.

You can lookup the discussion by Flyboy and the other person on what the setting has to be set to in the Jabra 30 to get the improvement in hearing-in-noise.

Likely the best affordable way to improve your speech in noise performance is to purchase a used Roger On iN

The Sonite is to the regular Lumity 90 as KS 10 was to the Paradise 90. Close cousins, if not twins. Reading between the lines I get the sense the Sonite is a reworked version of what Sonova would’ve offered up as the KS11 had there not been a hissy fit.

My local Costco hearing centre noted it wasn’t the Sphere. Lumity is based on the PRISM chip, like Paradise, but had added processing grunt (RAM?) to squeeze out a bit more performance and support Autosense 5.0. Gains are probably subtle for some folks, might be more pronounced for others.

I’m using KS10 with a fleet of Roger devices. Good but I find noise increasingly harder to handle. A Spheric device via Costco would be amazing but…I do wonder if it’s ever likely.

I have four settings on the App. It is the Phonak app. I tried to adjust or edit and was only able to rename or change the volume. I will have to talk to the technician at Costco and see if there is something they need to do so I can adjust my own settings.

Make sure you understand the whole “receiver” thing with Roger devices before you commit to a particular device. In short you need an iN devices or Roger X receivers and an installer.

Thanks, that is good information. I have gone back to my old Marvels and find with the program I set up on the Phonak app for speech in noise I actually heard better at a restaurant than with these new Sennheisers. The only real benefit I have found from the Sennheiser is that I can hear people with high pitched voices better than the Marvel (this is on the phone). I am beginning to think I might just keep the Marvel and use the app more and return the Sennheisers since I have tried the app and even done my own programs on it and have more trouble with speech in noise.The app is called Easy Line Remote and is similar to Phonak but is not exactly the same.
