This may sound a silly question, but in ‘Fine tuning’, when you highlight ‘RogerDirect +Mic’ and adjust Gain and , are those settings applied to the microphones in the Roger device, or the hearing aid mics?
I ask because I am having trouble in getting my trial Lumities to work as well with my Roger devices as they did with the Marvels. I know that @Zebras and @kevels55 both have experience with this, so maybe they, or someone could help.

Amount of gain within hearing aids so it’ll affect the Microphones as well.

Thanks, @zebras, but I still don’t quite get it. I don’t just mean gain, I meant changing frequencies, and programme options etc. The mics in the are vastly different to those in the Roger.
For instance, there is an option to disable HA mics. If you do that, then all settings you make just apply to the Roger?
Obviously changing the gain will also change the frequency depending on which part you select when you fine tune your hearing aids ie the Roger program.
Hi @Zebras. Tbh, I’m still struggling a bit. The Lumities themselves have definite potential as a step up from the Marvels. Still only 20 days into the trial period, so I have lots of time.
The Roger I am still having issues with. With the Marvels it had limitations in very noisy situations, but was still better than the mics. With the Lumities, I seem to find it easier to use the aids rather than the Roger, which seems odd. In a cafe on Thurs, it amplified everything else except the person sitting opposite me. I know I could have used it in presenter mode (or my Partnermic) but I want to see how it might be with eg. four people sitting round a table.
Probably need to experiment with different settings. I wonder if turning up Noiseblock in the programme settings for ‘RogerDirect + mic’ would help? I suppose this was the reason for my original question … eg. would increasing Noiseblock just apply to the HA mics, or the Roger mics?
Thanks for asking, though, and for your help so far.

NoiseBlock for me and others on this forum massively reduces the Roger Mic volume even at Number 1, to the point, I couldn’t even hear the Roger in noise.
It did the same to the Roger program with direct input leads so it’s the hearing aids rather then the leads or Roger etc.
I actually have all the features turned off on the Roger Program as then the Roger volume is much louder and easier to hear.

Oh, ok. That’s interesting and almost counter-intuitive, as I’d have expected Noiseblock to have helped. So do you have things like Windblock, Soundrelax Whistleblock etc. all turned off? I will, try that then, and set ambient balance to mostly-Roger mics.
Thanks. So when you use the Roger in a noisy situation (with all those things turned off in Roger settings), how do you have the ambient setting? Do you have it set to just Roger mics (ie, mics effectively turned off), or a mixture?
Ok. Well I will try that. But loudness isn’t always beneficial to me. Especially if the Roger makes everything loud, and not just the people I want to hear!
I realise we are all different but I found it doesn’t really pick up background noise as such.
But then some people hate the Roger from the very start as they feel the Microphone only picks up background noise.
Definitely give it a try and report back.
Do you still have the Select? Maybe you could try the Select with the L90 to see if it’s the that need adjusting or it’s just the behaviour of the On? Didn’t you say the Select with the M90 was good?

Yes, I still have the Select, @Zebras I will try that. But the settings in Target are the same for both, and I don’t think I can change settings for them individually.

For your hearing aids rather than the Select?
If you mean hearing aids, then yes, that’s what I mean as you say the Select works well with M90 so could potentially mean it’s the On, itself or the way the new hearing aids work.
Trying the Select will allow you to decide what it is.
You could try the Select with the L90 and it be perfect? I’m on guessing tho.
When you say changing settings individually, do you mean between the M90 and L90 or between each ear?
@Zebras The ON and the Select seem to work exactly the same way in every situation. (As they did with the M90s, but better). The only way to alter Roger settings is in Target (other than minor app settings) which affects whichever Roger is being used.
And changing settings individually … no, I mean changing settings for the Select and the ON separately.
I will try with Noiseblock to off (as you have it), and then try with Noiseblock to maximum, and then see what the difference is. It is a bit confusing to say the least!
