I have owned the original AirPods, Pro 2’s and now Pro 3’s. I noticed the Pro 3’s are significantly better than the Pro 2’s in several areas. The noise cancellation is outstanding. I used it with my 2-cycle Echo Backpack Leaf Blower that is super loud, and the noise cancellation feature of Pro 3’s eliminates all but a whisper of motor noise. Far better than Pro 2’s.
Frequency response is far better on Pro 3’s also. They go lower and higher, and there is a lot more detail in bass and midrange than the Pro 2’s. Pro 2’s have kinda a FAT one note bass sound, than masks details in bass and midrange. So if you want boomy bass go for Pro 2’s.
The Pro 3’s are far better as a hearing aid for my hearing loss than Pro 2’s were. I have very steep high frequency loss and the Pro 3’s address that loss far better. Not quite up to Oticon Intent 1’s but not bad.
They don’t handle speech in noise like Oticon Intent hearing aids either. But for streaming music with my prescription loaded in airpods, they are better at streaming, and movie watching than conventional hearing aids.
The up to 10 hours battery life in hearing aid mode is far better than Pro 2’s as well.
Now I do have issues with the eartips loosing seal sometimes and creating a whistling noise, or basically leakage that is getting amplified by mics. I have to adjust them in ear to cancel whistling when it occurs. Very annoying, and I feel the only real solution will be aftermarket tips that seal better. In my case I have large ear canals and I don’t feel the airpods L is large enough. Never had this problem with Pro 2’s, but they did not have the high frequency response the pro 3’ have, and the eartips were different. IMO Apple needs to come up with better tip design and a larger size.
