I doubt will ever do 5.1 sound, since HAs have a total of 2 receivers to work with. If you want 5.1 sound, etc., you’ve got to play your TV sound through a 5.1 sound system, and listen to that via your ears/HAs.

Perhaps not, but possibly a virtual experience could be provided something like what they do with AirPods. Spatial Audio. Use 3D sensing to change what is provided to the ears according to how the head is positioned.
Keep dreaming!

Hi Peter, with the connector can the TV also be used with a 5.1 sound system for others who are watching
I honestly don’t know, but if you use a Toslink splitter, they could run alongside each other

For what it’s worth, I use the Tv connector (Phonak) connected to the headphone sound output of my Sony and can adjust the sounds level independent to the tv speakers, this is while I’m the only one there and the wife is sleeping late at night, I also have created separated a TV program with the App adjusting the sound frequencies and volume so that I can listen using the TV speakers at the same low level that my wife listen to, a good compromise.

That is how the audio output of a TV should be. Sadly, fewer and fewer models do this, forcing us to jump through all kind of hoops…

Whidh model Phonak do you have? Currently, i have Brio 3 from Costco, but tomorrow i should be getting a newer model. I am intrigued about your creation of a Program since the app is mostly useless with the Brio 3!

Paradise P70T, older, had these for 2 years now and they meet my needs perfectly, disposable bat’s, rechargeable then were not great, everyone is different and sometimes I feel fortunate that I can hear as I do considering my severe loss. Always keep in mind that it will never be perfect.

Thanks! I cannot remember which model was ordered for me EXCEPT that i insisted on disposable batteries because my experience with rechargeable batteries, in general, has not been great. You use the standard Phonak App on Android or iOS?

The connectivity may well be limited to the TV itself as opposed to the . Built-in bluetooth is not universal from device to device or manufacturer to manufacture. There is not a regulation body that controls this - at this time.
