Assistive access in iPhone and Bluetooth connection to phonak aids

Hi my almost 90 year old mum has Bluetooth phonak paradise aids. As she has some cognitive issues we’ve set her iPhone 14 to use assistive access which seems exactly what we need. However we now can’t connect her phone to her hearing aids for call streaming I’ve searched Apple help without success and wondered if anyone here has managed to do this. Thanks in anticipation

I am not sure what assistive access is, but have you downloaded the latest Phonak app? In it, there’s a simple switch for enabling/disabling Bluetooth streaming. Now, I have Costco Sonite Rise, which are Phonak Infinio aids, so that may make a difference in what is available in the app. This may or may not help, but I figure it’s worth suggesting.

Thanks assistive access is a setting in iPhone accessibility settings for cognitive impairment she has been using Bluetooth for streaming calls for several years but now we have set this up it’s not available for aids other than MFI aids

It’s not been available through there since I got my first Costco KS-9/Phonak Marvel 90s. If you haven’t done it, download the MyPhonak app from the App Store. Follow the instructions to pair your Phonak Paradise aids to the app. From there, it should offer instructions for Bluetooth Streaming. I’ll try it with my older KS-9s and see if it works the same as my newer Rise (both Costco versions of Phonak).

So, the newer aids make it easier with an on/off toggle under DEVICES. With the Paradise, you may have to do this (from the instructions in the app - see attachment). But since the Paradise followed Marvels, they may be equipped with the slider switch under DEVICES/STREAMING to pair and toggle activation at will.

As I said, I am just trying to think about how you might get the working again. I hope you are successful.

Update : had a reply from Apple accessibility that they are aware of the issue and working on it so hopefully they will be sorting it soon.
