ReSound support has hinted that a “major” firmware update for Nexia is slated for Q1 2026 (likely by March) to bring its protocol closer to the Vivia’s standard. However, the Vivia will likely always remain more stable due to its superior processing power.
The ReSound Vivia (released early 2025) uses a dual-chip architecture with a dedicated Deep Neural Network (). This allows it to:
-
Directly Handshake: The Vivia can negotiate the “quality” of the broadcast (Low/Medium/High) directly with the LG C5.
-
Internal Processing: The Vivia handles the Auracast broadcast internally, whereas the Nexia relies heavily on your Samsung S23 to act as a bridge. If the S23 doesn’t perfectly “hand off” the signal, the Nexias will see the broadcast but won’t play the audio.

The firmware was updated for the Nexia to 10.62.1.0 fixes connection to the Lg C5 2025 TV. Works at 16 and 24 Hz Also when using hdmi soundbar 24Hz has some sync issues where audio delayed in each ear causing a echo effect otherwise was fine with TV speakers. 16Hz works in both cases. LG settings
Go to Settings > All Settings > General.
- Select Accessibility.
- Tap Enjoy TV Sound Together.
- Select Bluetooth Device + TV Speaker
- Even though it says “+ TV Speaker,” on the C5, this actually enables the primary audio engine to stay active. If your soundbar is connected via HDMI eARC, it should now stay on along with your aids.
- If you have an LG Soundbar, ensure WOW Orchestra is disabled in the Sound settings.
