not being broadcast from Samsung QN65QN990F 8K TV to my Resound Nexia . The Smart 3D app can see the TV (even what’s on) but I cannot select it or hear it.

Are there any options on the TV? You may need to toggle between 48kHz and 24kHz. Many (all?) hearing aids support 24kHz only for now.

Reach out to Samsung? The manual seems to say may not work with all devices. If it is 48kHz only and Samsung is not planning to update it, you’ll need one of the products discussed in threads here.

Welcome to the form Emevensdad.
Are you trying to stream to your hearing aids directly from the TV? Or are you using a streaming device? If you’re using a streaming device, then the output settings will probably need to be changed.
Did you pair your hearing aids to the TV? My understanding is that the TV is using the Bluetooth and you would need to add the device which are your hearing aids and then set the output for the Bluetooth.
Samsung will probably be your best option If you can get somebody with good knowledge on this TV.
One thing I found that’s helpful. Is kids or grandkids.
Good luck.

Contact Samsung and let them know of the issue. Then go to Amazon and buy a transmitter.
I prefer the Homespot BA 210 v2 over the others because the volume level can be adjusted to a much higher output level then the others using the QK Connect software. This probably more important for folks who use an open dome.

The QN65QN990F is supposed to support without needing an intermediate transmitter.
I, too, think calling Samsung is your best bet - that or the store you bought the Tv from.

is not yet all compatible. It will probably take several generations of devices before that happens. The Samsung manual notes not all devices will work.
Samsung should include the specs and be transparent. I didn’t see that detail.

I’ve spent over 12 hours over several days, speaking with six techs and three supervisors. Most never heard of . A few tried to get me to “Pair” my with my QN65QN990F 8K TV , which of course disables Auracast. One told me to “call Auracast” as if that were a company, rather than a technology. They sent out a tech team who also never heard of Auracast. Then closed the case as completed, marking it up as a HA problem, not a Samsung Problem!
This morning—quite by accident—I found a way to change some sort of settings on my TV for “sound quality” from 48Hz to 24Hz and VOILA! It works without an accessory, although later I could not find the path to the settings, so I can’t tell you how to do it here. But the key is that Auracast devices do not support native 48Hz sound quality.
So I called Samsung Tech and a supervisor to enlighten them, but they couldn’t find a path to such settings, claim they do not exist, and still insist it is and was a HA problem. Go figure!

Most hearing aids afaik require 24 kbps. This is to extend battery life. Turns out that Demant aids work with 48 kbps as well.

UPDATE: This morning—with zero help from Samsung—I tripped over some settings that they called “Sound Quality”, that included the ability to switch from 48Hz to 24Hz and suddenly my could not only See, but also Hear my TV via the Smart 3D app. I can adjust volume separately from the surroundings.

There were always two sampling rates included in the Broadcast () spec: standard (24) and high (48) quality. I think SQ might be mandatory for public broadcasts.

Good to know. Too bad the technicians and their supervisors @ Samsung DON’T KNOW their products or these specs, or how to find or select the right one!

If you can write up a set of instructions, that will help others with this same issue and will be able to find your instructions going forward.

You could probably just get a little Audikast 4 transmitter and plug it into the optical sound port on the TV. I did that on mine and it works fine. Every channel has a different name and the external transmitter would have its own to choose in your app. The sound quality is wonderful.

I have a Avantree Audikast 4HA transmitter. I can get it to connect to two TV’s and a Radio Shack portable radio using the headphone output. But my 2005 Silverado that has a rear seat audio system that works with ordinary headphones will not connect to the 4HA. Has anyone had this issue and found a solution? I have Oticon hearing aids and using the Iphone app.

IF I could figure out how I got to those “Sound Quality” settings I would Definitely write it up—and send it to Samsung’s CSRs and Tech Support!

If you put the TV model number you quoted above and “enable ” in a Google search it will give you instructions. maybe you can check to see if they are correct?
