Hello everyone, i just found this forum (the busiest i’ve seen so far). I’m not quite sure this is the right section, so let me know if i should post this elsewhere.
I was born with bilateral microtia and I’ve been using a since i was 12 years old. Recently i changed my old BAHA compact to a brand new BAHA 4 but I’ve had trouble using a stethoscope with it. During medical school my setup was a Cardionics steth + DAI to my BAHA (sound was not really satisfying but it was acceptable). Eventually the steth broke (I live in Portugal, sent it once to USA to be repaired but it didn’t really help and i thought it was time to buy a new one) and my BAHA compact retired (it had to endure my teenager years, despite still working after 12 years it’s a little bit damaged).
Fast forward, i decided to give it a try to the Thinklabs ds32a with my BAHA 4 but somehow i still can’t get a satisfying auscultation (actually none at all) and my audiologist can’t seem to find me a solution. So far i’ve relied on others to auscultate patients for me but that’s not a feasible long term solution.
I was wondering if there’s anyone with a BAHA 4 + DAI steth able to help me. I’d like what steth brand (Thinklabs has a new one that seems really neat) are you using, what configuration do you have on BAHA 4 (so i could give some feedback to my audiologist) or any other information you think it would be useful for me.
Regards,
Rui Pedro Leitão
