Booking Flights with Hearing Loss

I'm not sure whether this is the right platform to share this question, but let me know if it is not.

Where do you book a flight? Always on the main websites of airlines (where you can get more benefits and assistance)? or do you go with other options that provide "Affordable" tickets?
If some of you go with the second, is assistance provided for you as a hard-of-hearing traveller then?

I flew UK to Tokyo via Doha, then Hong Kong back to UK also via Doha with Qatar Airlines. I was assisted on each of the flights, taken to each gate in a wheelchair, which I felt a little guilty about as I don't have mobility issues. First passenger on and last off, great service, also no waiting at passport control. Flights were booked directly with airline.

I don't know if you would receive same using other ticketing options.

I always use the airlines web sites. Always. If there is an issue such as cancellation or change, the airline is more responsive than if you bought using a third party. Most of them now guarantee you won't find a lower price anywhere else.

Most of the time, I don't have any issue being . if I feel there may be a problem at some point, maybe due to delays or whatever, I'll notify the gate agents, and ask them to keep me in the loop. They are usually very responsive when you tell them.

Many times they offer pre-boarding. I tell them I don't need it, unless something weird is going on.

You can let airline know of your hearing loss and that you may need assistance.

I recommend installing airline app, Delta app was awesome on updates.

One thing that can make flying less stressful is letting the airline know about your hearing needs when booking. I’d also keep important travel details and announcements accessible in writing where possible, especially during boarding or gate changes.

I’ve just flown from Melbourne/Singapore/Istanbul/Munich/then Venice/Rome/Bangkok/Melbourne. I booked on the main website so I could get disability assistance..
