I’m currently using Rexton Reach . Although I seem to hear some high pitched sounds that I couldn’t hear before, one on one speech clarity seems about the same as without aids.
I’m wondering if the Sennheiser Sonite R might be better for speech. Both are available at Costco.

Neither hearing aid will give you . You might want to read up on Auracast to see if it will provide some benefit to you. Currently Jabra is the only hearing aid being sold at Costco that currently has Auracast capability. Philips says they will update soon, whatever that means.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy a new hearing aid that doesn’t do Auracast. You may see no personal benefit and feel differently.
As to your question, it is entirely possible that the Sennheiser Sonite will sound better to you. Your hearing loss is unique to you. So the only way to know is to try the hearing aid.
I believe that all hearing aids can be made to sound good with enough adjustments. However, that takes time and effort by the wearer and hearing aid specialist.
The worst well programmed will outperform the best HA poorly tuned. When users have problems with speech, they tend to blame the hearing aids and not the programming. What you describe sounds like a programming issue.
The Reach is an excellent hearing aid: Talk to your specialist and discuss the issue with them. Sometimes HAs require multiple adjustments to get to the right fitting.
Thanks. I appreciate the advice. I’m going to see the Costco audiologist on September 5. I’m going to email her in advance.
In the meantime I made an adjustment using the Rexton assistant.
Keep in mind that the Sennheiser Sonite R is an older model hearing aid which hopefully will be updated for Costco at some point. With that said, it is an excellent hearing aid. As has been pointed out, programing is the key but hearing aids do sound differently so the only way to really know if one is better is to give it a test run. (at least a month, not just walking around Costco)
The audiologist at Costco initially recommended the Sennheiser because of the value. It comes with a free TV transmitter.
I tried both, and thought that the Rexton had better sound. However, as you mentioned, it was only in the store. I think I went in with a preconceived bias toward Rexton be cause of reviews on Hearing Tracker and Soundly.
I’ll ask Costco again about the two. I’ve had these since July 20, so just over a month. Going back for adjustments and cleaning on September 5.
I’m hesitant about starting over with a new brand. We’ll see.
Thank you for your reply. My understanding is, yes, only Jabra has . Auracast has not yet been implemented but it’s believed that it will be a game changer when it is. In the meantime, the Rexton Reach has , which is similar. My understanding is that there will be a later firmware update that will provide Auracast.
You’re right, I don’t currently have much use for it, but I’m planning to go to a play in a theater that has telecoil. That is early October so I can try telecoil then.
Sorry for the late response. The adjustment went OK. I had the audiologist add some more profiles which helps in noisy areas, like restaurants.
My left completely quit on me yesterday. I’m going back to Costco in a couple days to see what they will do. I’ve only had the HAs for 3-4 months so they shouldn’t fail that soon in my opinion.
I may ask about a return or exchange for another brand. Sennheiser maybe?
