Can my Oticon Real Level 2's have an additional program added for Driving

I have one more year before my Medicare + plan allows me to get new hearing aids with 60% compensation. Can my Oticon Real Level 2’s have an additional program added for Conversations in a car. When my son is driving me we can only have a form of comprehensible conversation is through my Android phone Live Transcribe application provided I can get a 5 ghz signal. If I am driving with a passenger those conversations can only be understood at stoplights when I glance at the Live Transcribe app. I don’t have android auto capability in my older car (2016 model Honda HRV).

With my old Phonak I could add programs without an audiologist.

Oticon has 4 programmable slots with the 1st usually being the general program.
Your audi has to add the additional programs in the Oticon fitting software.
There is no driving program per se, but a custom program can be created based on the criteria you specify to the audi.

I am not “really” impressed with Oticon based on my experience with the Real. Had I known the Real series was in it’s final life cycle stage and that it was not user programmable, I would have insisted on an different choice, I think Phonak was available. I was switching from a Costco Phonak Brio in the ear model. I have an earpiece for the Oticon but it no longer fits well in my ear. I have to hold it in with my left finger (I am totally deaf in right ear) to get a fair level of spoken sound enough for a conversation. I still need to use my phone and Google Live Transcribe to have a more complete understanding level in conversation. For presentations at meetings, I have to sit in the front row and use both devices.

Sorry the Oticons aren’t working out for you.
None of the are user programmable, unless you go the route with the software, and hardware on a windows machine.
The programs you create on the phonak app are modifications of the existing programs from the factory, and not permanent.
Admittedly, it is convenient, though to be able to fine tune at the app level.

I have been wearing Oticon aids for 15+ years and wearing aids for 20+ years. I loce my Oticon INTENT1 aids. I only have the default program and that is by my choice. I just put them in the morning when I get up and forget about them until bedtime. I go to concerts, lectures, meets, restaurants and do volunteer work at my church and the Veterans Administration clinics close to me. I also ride a motorcycle and drive with the windows down. I am a retired IT professional I could but have no need to as my audiologist has worked with me to ensure that my aids are optimal for my hearing needs.
