Hi Andy
I’m Canadian too…Are you a member of Costco? Do they sell hearing aids in Regina?
I have Phonak Audeo Paradise P90R’s. Costco used to sell a close copy call a K10. They stopped selling the Paradise P90 clone. They are now selling another hearing aid, another brand. Great guarantee. Better Price. someone here needs to provide more information than I can.
They have now started selling another “clone” I’m not up to speed on that.

Hi, Regina store offers Jabra, Resounnd, Rexton and Philips
I have visit booked on Mar 8th
Right ow I have Phonak Audio B50-13 with CROSS that is failing (cuts in and out)
Would you know anyone in Canada that could fix it at reasonable price?

Andy Im sorry I dont know.
I’m supplied by Ontario workman’s compensation, and they cover repairs. Sometimes. BUT I don’t have CROSS. my hearing loss is a little less than yours. I thougth I would speak up to get the talk going.
My dispensing audi wasn’t a help. I have someone new who is doing setup much better.
Hearing Well Matters in Burlington Ontario. Rob Hamilton.
He has worked miracles for me. At 3 years Phonak replaced my hearing aids and charger. I hear better now. my rechargeable batteries actually work much better than they ever did before.
He has a website. I’m grateful he took me on; he can’t sell me new hearing aids for two or so years. I don’t know how he’s getting paid for all my visits. Great respect for him.

Great suggestion.
I don’t know where Neville’s clinic is. I have a lot of respect for Neville!
I do know it’s a long long drive from where I am to Regina. 4 days; maybe more.
I’m a Navy Brat. I was born in Victoria. Left before I could walk.

I don’t now either, here in Quebec the gov used to supply good Ha’s, with cut back they went down hill, so I purchased mine, no help from the gov, cost a bit (7k), but then hearing is everything, just make sure they are programed to your hearing loss, so a good Audi is just as important, mine here listen to me and does a great job.

If I understand the question correctly: phonak is not available at Costco right now.
They had a falling out after, from what I’ve heard, Costco America accused them of making faulty chargers or rechargeable devices and Phonak, pointing out the costco Canada had not had trouble nor had their private line, implied that they had incompetent clinicians incapable of proper troubleshooting.
This is gossip and hearsay, mind you.
I’ve heard some rumor that sonova may return in some form (Sennheiser?) but that hasn’t come to Canada yet.
I’ve said elsewhere that I wouldn’t hesitate to send family to Costco Ontario, but wouldn’t to Costco America. I also wouldn’t to Costco Alberta. I have no idea about Saskatchewan.

I still get the odd duff charger from Sonova: had to change a Moxi Vivante one today with a demo stock one (fitted last week). I wonder if there’s a problem with different impedance coils in them caused when they get injection over-moulded: alignment of dye particles in plastics takes on all sorts of weirdness when the material flows and cools.

The Lumity platform is available as you mention under the Sennheiser name, roll out will be worldwide if successful in USA.

At what price? Do American Costco prices are the same regardless of State?

Prices between states may vary $100 to $200 per pair. Typical price seems to be about $1500 to $1600 per pair. Rumor I heard was that if the trial is successful with the current Sennheiser, they would expand distribution with a new model. What that would be is anybody’s guess.

My guess would be Sphere, they’ve done their latest premium just 6 months after releasing before, Phonak is fighting for market share with the , add Costco and it could be the biggest selling model for sonova ever!

I wonder what kept the from adopting sphere. I’d be wearing them now if they’d been on the November contract update.

Stronger clinicians better oversight. I’m sure there are great clinicians everywhere, but the odds of finding one are different in different areas. Better chances in Canada than the states I think, but there are probably state specific differences that I am not familiar with, too. Some states can apparently grab someone off the floor and give them six months training and call them an , but not all.
