Digging up this thread since I got my upgrade to a N8 a couple of weeks ago, being half a decade since I got the N7.
Transferring maps over went without a problem, though things were a little bit louder than before, so that was easily fixed with a small adjustment to the overall volume.
The smaller size now makes for a more snug fit than before and it sits on the ear better without the frames of some glasses I got recently threatening to push the processor off.
Map-wise, I had my two usual programs - one is just a static program with manual FF. And the other being a copy with whisper. Also elected to have scan2 FF added as well, being one of the main updated features on the M8.
I didn’t use the original scan program on the N7 as its noise reduction in the speech-in-noise mode effectively just muted everything and its threshold for activation seemed rather low so it was kicking in all the time. Rather unmanageable.
On the N8, scan2 just works as it should, and I’ve been very happy with it. Listening to speech in all sorts of situations is much easier. So it’s been my default program now.
The package came with two power extend batteries, and these last for at least two and a half days without recharging. I’ve not yet run them flat but I’d think they would make it to the end of a third day.
Been a great upgrade. Very happy with it!
