Here is a list of my hardware: Phonak Brio 2’s, TvLink II, Compilot Air II, Compilot II. Using the optical link from the TV to the TvLink II. Everything works pretty much as it should.

Issue 1: Although I can stream from the internet (e.g. Netflix) though our Apple TV box to the TV. The volume usually comes through lower and we can adjust by turning up the TV volume and the TvLink II’s volume. The other night we tried to watch a show by AirPlay Mirroring from an iPad through the Apple TV. We had to really crank up the volume on the TV to hear the audio. No matter what I tried, I could not get any volume through the connections to the hearing aids. Any suggestions?

Issue 2: I’ve got 2 Lenovo laptops running Windows 10 that don’t play well with either the ComPilot II or ComPilot Air II. They are discoverable while Bluetooth pairing but then give connection errors. The connection works well with a Win10 tablet, an iPad, Android tablets and Android cell phones. Any suggestions?

Don’t have that problem with a Roku or Fire stream but don’t use Airplay. It sounds Apple specific to me. The feed from the computer must be strong enough to get the TVLink to recognize it. It may be that the TV is the culprit. Although running through multiple devices is causing the problem. The only possible way to check seems to be playing with the volume on each device and isolating results using the speakers to check everything before the TVLink is used.

All of this keeps doing a audio to data to audio etc. Each has a codec associated with it and none are truly lossless.

Not sure about the Lenovo but a possibility is an incompatible/missing codec or configuration. Bluetooth can have varied capabilities. Possibly Lenovo support can provide you with a missing codec/configuration or you might find/install it Googling the missing codec.

BT isn’t really a 100% plug and play device. It’s used for so many different features it can get confused.

This is not going to help you with your answers. I also have a Compilot 11. I only stream from iPhone and phone calls. As soon as I start streaming the volume control on my streamer doesn’t work. I also have to adjust the volume using the controls on my iPhone.
My volume button on my streamer have never worked for me while streaming.

Actually it might. I’ll have to try seeing what controls the volume with each setup. Brings me back to days of analogue stereos where you could tweak the pre amp to the input source, then adjust your balance or the output volumes on the main amp.

I’ll get the house Apple fan to see if there are any “pre amp” controls that can be configured before the sound gets to the TV.

I’m getting stumped here. There is no volume control on the Apple TV. Tried changing the sound settings to 16 bit with no change. No sound coming through on Netflix. I was ready to say the Apple Tv was the culprit until I remembered we streamed a live concert off the web through it.

Well, I’ve got one of those PC’s on a stick running Win10 that plugs into the TV, let me see if I can get that to do anything.
