I've been using my new Philips 9050 hearing aids for a week now. Because of my hearing loss, I use the Receiver 105 in acrylic ear molds with ventilation.
I like the way they process sounds—it's almost natural.
But the problem I’m having is that when I walk around the house, am in a quiet environment, or even walk through the mall, I hear a beeping sound or feedback that only I can hear, since it’s like an internal sound. The sound is just like the whistle you hear when you take off your hearing aids while they’re still on.
Interestingly, when I put on a pair of on-ear headphones, the whistling stopped. I think it’s due to sound leakage at high frequencies or that the receiver is reaching its limit.
On the other hand, sometimes my voice or someone else’s sounds like bacon frying, but this happens only occasionally. As I was told, this is an effect that occurs when the hearing aid adapts sounds to a frequency that allows me to hear clearly.
I tried the solution suggested by @Jackhammer , and sure enough, I no longer have those annoying beeps.
But I’d still like to see this issue resolved in the General Program.
