My preference would be for the bigger R-312 (312 battery instead of smaller 10 battery). Bigger battery lasts longer, I like them to last a week so I can change it same time same day each week.
There’s a wind noise program you can ask for ‘speech in wind’, so you can change it to that setting whenever it’s windy… but… I find it’s much easier to just pop a beanie over the hearing aids - stops wind from blowing across the microphones. Alternatively you can try Eargear (check google) which is like little socks which go over the top of the hearing aids, not very sightly but does the trick, ie stopping wind from blowing across the microphones.
Compared to headphones hearing aids are never going to be as good for music, because hearing aids are designed to be focused on speech. Bass is low frequencies, treble is high frequencies, if you asked for extra bass yes they probably turned up the low pitched sounds. Might be also why your voice is loud? Male voices have a lot more bass in them and if they turned up bass sounds your voice is louder. Not sure.
I can’t believe you got the Compilot II Air for free! It’s not free at Costco Sydney… TV unit goes from the TV to the Compilot II Air then to your hearing aids, if Compilot Air is sensitive to head movement, check if you don’t move your head is the TV unit working better? Or nah same problem?
Another cool thing with the Compilot II is you can download an app on your phone to change the settings - type “Phonak remote control” app into the play store. If you have time you can try.
