In 2024, I tried the Costco Jabra 20 with skeletal earmolds
I had a strange feedback problem when walking through doorways and leaning my head toward the cupboards while doing the dishes.
Also while in the Costco sound proof room there was an annoying down ship in volume when the hearing instruments specialist talked in my direction and then swiveled his chair 90 degree to type on the laptop.
I returned the aids after several appointments because they were unable to solve the issue.
On a couple side notes, Costco said some of my settings were near the max threshold, but didn’t think that was the cause of the problem.
The Jabra helpdesk suggested lowering the wind sensitivity, but that did not work either.
The hearing tracker forum recommended double checking the fit and vent size of the earmolds, we did that and everything seemed correct, but it feedback problem was still there.
With all that said, I am thinking of giving it another try with the new Jabra 30 model of aids.
Now, here’s the question.
Since my hearing loss is borderline severe, would the new Jabra Enhance 30 Max RIC be a better fit, or is it too powerful?
Or would Jabra EP 30 with earmolds be better?
I am leaning toward the BTE.
