I have custom molds. My audi said that they don’t need –although they have them embedded in the body of the mold. I clean them before putting them on. It seems fine. Do others not use wax guards on their molds?

I guess depends on the type of hearing aids, my aids are MiniRite aids and the are there to protect the receivers. And I inspect my wax guards daily and replace as soon as I notice any wax in them.

If you have , you need even if you have custom ear molds. Even have a filter, but not so much for wax.

You need changeable , period. I have had a lot of custom molds and everyone had wax guards. My last set made they weren’t accessible and I had them remade so they were. I would have them remade.
