Do Silicone Ear Molds Harden Over Time?

I’m approaching 15 months will current full shell silicone molds and notice sometimes my ear ache. So wondering what is the life span of silicone molds before they go hard or need to be replaced? Also I use an aid drier every night (Global store and dry) and am wonder if heating molds every twenty-four hours shortens lifespan of silicone?

I’d like to think current molds could last three plus years, but have no idea when they should be replaced. Most times molds go in and I don’t think twice. But other times its as if my ears are saying - “not a good fit so take them out and rest your ears”.

And I’m not taking outer ear but the enclosed part the mold pushes into. Hope board has some answers.

Silicone ear moulds for me last around a year. Hard ear moulds last a lot longer.

l have silicone ear molds and l have to order new hard shell earmolds because hard shell last longer and l’m getting ear canal and outer ear skin irritation from the silicone earmolds.

No, silicon did not harden over time. Actually, its opposite. Loosen and soften over time due to bodyheat.
