Dual streaming from TV to hearing aids as well as from TV speaker

HI all.. apologies if this is in another topic…. I have Oticon Intent 1 (with latest firmware 1.3.0) and am looking for a reasonably priced gadget that I can travel with that will stream audio from TV to hearing aids as well as allowing audio through TV speakers ….. I do have the Oticon TV adapter that I guess , worst case, I can take with me, but just wondering if there’s something else? TIA

I’m not familiar with the Oticon receiver, but in general, any device that uses a fiber optic TOSLINK input from your TV should allow your TV to share the sound between its speakers and another device like a hearing aid TV connector.

Thanks….. I’m not sure the TV has a TOS link … it’s a pretty old TV … she does have a soundbar connected to it….

So what’s the specific make and model of the tv? I have a 2009 tv that has all the right audio outs.

I have another set of cables for my tv adapter (Phonak TV Connector). I leave the one set plugged in at home and have another set for travel. I disconnect the adapter and take it with me. The audio input jack is dual mode. It takes either analog 3.5mm (1/8”) or toslink in the same jack. I have different adapters for the analog option.

I don’t think you can guarantee TOSlink will be installed in hotel/motel TVs. In any case, you’d probably have to go into the settings and see if the TV can do internal speaker and optical out simultaneously.

A placed as close as possible to the TV’s speaker might work decently. You might also be able to exploit via Floogoo or Avantree.

Thanks… it’s not at a motel… it’s at a relative’s house and they’re not very tech savvy…. I might see if I can find specs for the TV somewhere….. I’ve tried and it didn’t work well at all…. also, I thought Floogoo didn’t offer dual outputs ?

Do you have your tv connector with you there? You could go find an optical cable. Assuming usb power any usb to wall wart phone charger would work if the tv doesn’t have a usb port.

Then you can find out if sound comes out of both the speakers and the optical.

And also any analog audio cable with relevant ends. But the sound from the output might be controlled the same as the speakers.

Thanks…. I’m not there now…. just trying to plan for upcoming trip over Christmas…. I might just try to take my Oticon TV adapter with me , along with both optical and RCA cords and hope for the best…. was hoping I could find reasonably priced alternative that I could take with me instead of disconnecting the adapter,etc….
