Facts are that there are excellent Chinese manufacturers of aids. One being New Sound, LTD of Xiamen, China. And they are not $15…,Most of their aids are in excess of $100 wholesale in large quantity.
And a number of the European leading brands have their aids assembled in high quality modern Chinese plants.
Yes there is some junk aids for sale on Ebay…but there are high quality aids also for sale at about half of what a local will charge. For example Siemens top line aids are listed for low prices. Price includes warranty and adjustment to your Audiogram.

New Sound, according to their web site, has no presence here. All phone numbers have a Chinese country code. The one U.S. address given is an upper middle class residence in Md. Even if I went to China to buy them (where I’ll be for 10 days in a month), if they need service (which all do) - would have to throw them out. OTH, for a couple hundred $, would be worthwhile, maybe. The pics on their website, tho, make them look pretty bad.
Ebay is famous for selling knockoffs of all kinds of goods, especially electronics. Amazon has the same problem - but w. Amazon you have Amazon’s good return policy. Lots of sellers
