Feedback from long hair---normal?

I just got new silicone molds on January 2, and right away had a lot of feedback. At first, it may have been because as soon as I got in the car after the appointment, I tried to carefully take off my mask, but the aids fell off my ears, and the molds partially fell out, too. And I may not have gotten them back in the ideal way.

But I have continued to have a fair amount of feedback on and off. I have long hair that I pull back with thin hair bands, so it’s out of my eyes. But it still can go over the aids. Would that be normal to get feedback from that?

I also can get it from going near a door jamb, or a wall, etc. Is that normal?

Can it also be from perhaps the molds don’t fit as well as they should?

I don’t have molds, but that’s happened to me when moving my hair, putting on a sweater, or opening the fridge. I usually fix it by repositioning the dome, since there’s a sweet spot that works best. It only happens rarely.

If this happens frequently or if it is bothersome, talk to your Aud. He/she may want to do a programming change or modify the vent.

No, frequent feedback is not normal. Occasionally- yes, but not often. Make sure your earmold don’t grab and take some hairs inside the ear canal, thisnis mine problem.

I’d recommend going back in to see your audiologist. When I switched from a mould to a dome in just one ear, my audiologist had to adjust the programming in the aid with the mould. I imagine that switching to a mould would also require an adjustment.

Don’t try to live with feedback. It’s so annoying and stopping it is a basic fix for the audiologist to do.

Thank you! Obviously, I need to have my fitter make some adjustments, and/or make a new mold. He did make adjustments when he gave me the molds.

At this point, I am wanting to switch to a more experienced fitter, or an audiologist, as it has been constant issues. And he said that they don’t really do molds there.

I also may give up on the Jabras and try another . But I don’t have a recommendation of who else to go to. I hate to stab in the dark, as I’ve already had numerous problems in the past with Audis, which is why I didn’t have aids for so long. Which makes it more difficult, also, that I’ve been without HAs for so long.
