My KS8s are getting long in the tooth and my church just installed (I paid for it).
Auracast is therefore a must-have requirement, so I believe that limits my choices to the Philips HearLink 9050 or Jabra Enhance Pro 30 based on Costco's web site. Anyone know different?
My Costco now has the SG AMP 2.0s. The I saw said that he has only fitted one so far and doesn't think anyone else there has fitted any yet. I did go with the Jabra EP 30s for delivery next Saturday. Now would be a good time to explain why I should change this.
I had the Jabra EP 30s. There’s a lot you like about these hearing aids. But I actually returned them, yesterday, and ordered the Soundgear AMP 2’s.
Why you ask? Well, if my store had the AMPs, I would have gotten them in the first place, but I had to wait months for the appointment. I was going to get hearing aids at that appointment, and I really wanted . But past that, I couldn’t get used to the aggressiveness of the sound quality of the Jabra’s. My hearing loss is moderate and in a quiet environment I couldn’t get comfortable with the sound of my voice. I was working with the Costco fitter to lower the gain in the high frequencies (in a quiet environment) but logically lowering the gain is contrary to what hearing aids are supposed to do. When I tried the AMPs at my Costco yesterday, my voice sounded more natural. So, I ordered them.
I really think the Jabra’s are a good hearing aid. In noisy environments I heard quite well and my voice didn’t bother me. So, I am sure other people can be successful with them.
And auracast is wonderful.
I was the second person to buy the AMP 2s at my store. 🤷🏼♀️
