Hearing Aid dropout when using touch screen on Pixel 9A Android phone

I am currently trialling Starkey Edge Aids to be followed by Phonak i90. I am using a new Pixel 9A android phone and want the benefits of calls and audio streaming through my Aids. So far I have found the Starkey aids drop out for a few seconds if I am using the touch screen to activate an app, which is very irritating. ChatGTP tells me this is a reported problem with Starkey Aids but also that Phonak Aids can be problematic. It would seem the only really reliable phone to Aid connection is the Apple Iphone.
Has anyone any direct experience of this or any solutions? A work around which was suggested and seems to work is activating Do Not Disturb on the phone, but that silences all calls and notifications and means I would have to depend on my smart watch for these. Thank you

I’ll bet it is notification from the os of the app activation, and wonder if you can turn off that notification in the os. I’m an iOS guy. But they have same/similar problems. I turn off almost all notifications. Calls are left on. Even my texts are left off. My watch has an audible alert, that’s usually enough.
