YEARS ago, the Starkey aids I trialled did the same thing at the gym. Any amount of contact with sweat from my skin or hair, and they’d start shifting into programs randomly like a mad dog.
Now it could be that your current aids aren’t as good at protecting against that kind of humidity or moisture, but that would make me wonder as Raudrive asks, “What model/make are these?” Also, if they are FIVE years old, consider getting a new pair - right at Costco. Maybe the newer aids do a better job?
I use EarGear7 for trips to the salon when my stylist manages to PAINT the dang bean in its sock no matter how “careful” she is; I often put the aids in this UV/dryer5 - but NOT nightly as I used to do with my battery operated aids!
Bugs me blind that I’m obsessed with CHARGING the rechargeables up - and forget about sanitation or drying them out. It shouldn’t be this way, but the Phonak Lumity Life aids do NOT have a charging base that also provides UV and drying. DOH.
