Hearing aids for musicians

I am a musician and singer. I have reduced hearing in one ear and higher frequency loss in the other. I have been using Oticon Intent 1 aids with what I am told is a music program but am losing lower frequencies and sound is not natural. I still cannot make out what some people are saying. I have Bose open earbuds which give beautiful sound when listening on an iphone but can’t be used as aids. I read that the Widex Allure give rich full sound but at my age I can’t afford to pay that price to find I’m no better off. Can you advise me please.

The magic of a hearing aid is all about the programming , much more than the brand and model of the aid.

Besides adjusting the app equalizer , I can’t think of anything else that you can do from the app (based on the info you shared).

Bear in mind the MyMusic program is intended to adjust for listening to external music sources, whether live or aired, and may not give the best results for your own musical performance. There is an interested and highly technical thread on this topic at Performing musicians? - #22 by bhughes_99 you may appreciate. I am a home musician only, so this is more than I need to consider, but I found the whole discussion interesting.

Two things. 1. No hearing aid will provide rich bass due to the lower frequency range below 100hz cannot be reproduced by the tiny speaker devices used. 2. for live musicians, typically the weirdness of sounds is due to the “comb filter effect” cause by the processing delay in almost every current hearing aid device. This delay is 5 to 15 milliseconds which is very noticable in a live music performance. The only hearing aids on the market that eliminate this delay issue are the WIdex recent models, Moment, Allure RD (not the slim) , , etc. Their Pure Sound processing delay is only 0.5 milsec. What most vendors call Music Program is intended for non performers listening to radio , TV, etc. not live instruments. Additionally most vendors focus on the voice frequency range 150 to 7500 hz , far too narrow for music. Widex 440 series as well as a few other vendors have extended range 100hz to 12kz which is superior
