Hearing music from computer using Bluetooth

Yesterday I was fitted with Resound Saxo 8 Power (Costco). I purchased the Mini Microphone and the Phone Clip+. While at the shop both devices were Bluetooth paired to my cell phone. I have used the phone clip to listen to music on my cell phone. It works well. I have a lot of music on my desktop computer, a Dell XPS 8700 which has a Bluetooth adapter built in. I hoped to listen to the music via Bluetooth. I successfully paired the computer to a “hearing aid phone” via the Phone Clip+. The computer tells me the device is “audio headset”. 4 green bars and “connected”. One problem. No Sound! Looking at the “volume Mixer” I have bluetooth audio device selected. One problem. No Sound!

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Dell XPS 8700 also, and I was able to listen to music/sounds via Bluetooth to my Phone Clip +. You need to make sure the Bluetooth connection is the default playback device. You can do this by right clicking the speaker icon in the task bar, chose playback device, highlight the Bluetooth hearing aid in the list of speakers and click set as default device in the lower right of the box. You can also go into properties and adjust the volume as well as enhancements.

Thank you Mustang 70. I did as you suggested. The Bluetooth hearing aid is not listed in the list of speakers. Only Speakers, Realtek High Definition Audio default device is listed. How do I get the hearing aid into the list?

Mustang 70. I got it! I didn’t have the Phone Clip+ turned on when I looked for the playback devices. Once I turned the Phone Clip+ on I was able to choose the hearing aid as the default device and the music played.

I have an appt at Costco for hearing aids next month. I’ve been reading about Resound’s Linx which Costco does not carry as yet. But it seems that with Linx no need for phone clip and mini mike, its all one unit and more advanced electronics compared to the Saxo 8. What is the price of the Saxo plus those 2 accessories?

$1299.99 for each hearing aid. $222.59 for the Phone Clip+. The mini mic was free. I got it instead of the remote. I had molds made, $39.99 each. Aren’t you limited to an iPhone with the Linx? I’m not sure I would like that but of course, I haven’t any experience.

If you mean are you limited to iPhones with LinX, I don’t think so. Bluetooth is bluetooth on whatever device. It’s just that you don’t have to purchase the phone clip, remote, mini mic, it’s all in one unit. The remote would be yr cell phone. I could be wrong as at this point, I don’t have any . Waiting for my appt with the Costco hearing aid center and wishing they had the LinX.

Taking a phone call with the Linx with an iphone would mean you still have to talk into the iphone. It’s not really hands free like the Phone Clip+.

You can use a Phone Clip+ with the Linx and use any bluetooth phone hands free.
