Hello from a new hearing aid user with mild reverse slope loss

Hello everyone! Been lurking here for a couple weeks as I navigated my recently diagnosed hearing loss. This place has been a great help and I wanted to say hi!

I have a quite mild low frequency loss, but have enormous difficulty with speech in noise, and recently finally had an audiologist suggest I should try hearing aids. I finally got around to selecting an pair I could afford and I am blown away! I’m only on day 2, but I’ve managed to wear them the entire day both days, and the difference is staggering. Sounds are already becoming normal, and the clarity with speech is like night and day.

I was quite insecure when purchasing, my loss really is very mild and I felt almost silly buying hearing aids in my 20s because of that, but this forum is a major part of why I felt confident enough to go for it (along with my lovely wife encouraging me at every step). I am in love with them already!

Wanted to say hello and finally get involved beyond just lurking. If anyone has any advice for a new hearing aid user, I’d greatly appreciate it!

I’ve got the Elehear Beyond. They had a solid mothers day sale right when I was hunting for a pair that might be programmable enough to work OK for low frequency loss, seemed like most with enough ability to configure were more expensive than I can afford while I’m in grad school working part time.

Found these, the reviews were all stellar despite the price being low, so I figured worst case I will return them. Gotta say, absolutely no chance of that. These things are amazing, and I don’t see myself giving them up unless I find myself suddenly able to afford a significantly higher end pair within the return policy, which is awfully unlikely

If you are looking for a recommendation, based on the you have listed here, and from my short time with these, I suspect they’d be worth a shot for you if you want something inexpensive that might help
