How many people are like me, alternating between AirPods and OTC hearing aids?

Hearing aids are unsuitable for many situations, such as when I’m on a plane and the noise of the engine forces me to switch to AirPods. However, AirPods aren’t very effective in conversations or complex environments, so I switch back to hearing aids.

I used AirPods Pro for conversations in noisy environments before I got hearing aids better suited to that purpose. I still prefer them for music, phone calls, and solo tv watching. The bluetooth connection to my phone is more stable, and the person on the other end always complains that they can’t hear me when I use hearing aids for phone calls. And of course they’re better when I don’t want to hear my surroundings, like on a plane.

I am doing that…wearing one in my worse ear, and using AiPods to listen music while exercising..I have ordered a pair of prescription and I can’t wait to get them. The OTC helps, but I can clearly perceive its limitations. I want something more.

After reading this, I expect ill be alternating between my airpods 2pro and my Soundgear amp hearing aids when the latter arrives next week. My first set of aids but ive been way overdue. Wish there was more input in this thread, but its discouraging to read of limitations.

Hi there, depending on your hearing loss Airpods Pro (with the feature on) are really helpfull in many situation and have no competitors in listening to music, watching film, isolate from the world, making calls, I personally use them 50% of the time but I can sincerly say that compared to my Hearing AIDs are like steel vs gold (even in terms of money XD).

The amplification of Airpods is way too weak. I tried, and discarded them. Also, not a fan of being locked in Apple’s walled garden.
