While flying this past week I watched a movie on my ipad, however, the heard lots of other sounds on the plane. Is there a setting to block out the other sounds coming into my Paradise HAs and just hear the sounds from my ipad? Thanks

Yes because streaming doesn’t mute the hearing aids mics, and the domes or ear molds don’t prevent other sounds from getting through to your ears.

Yes. If you use the app, when you open it whilst you are streaming, it will show the bluetooth programme. If you select the icon at the right hand side at the bottom, it will bring up a slider control (titled Balance). Move the control to the very right hand side and that will block most of the external noise.

I just tried your suggestion and was able to adjust the slider. I did it in my daughters quiet home , but when I fly back home I will try it . Thanks much.

The buttons on the aids also will work the same way as the slider on the app. That will work if you use a bluetooth dongle for the airline entertainment system or if you stream from another device that doesn’t support the phonak app.

Are you sure? I thought the buttons turn the volume up and down, including what you are streaming.

However, considering the volume, for all streaming programs (bt call, bt media, tv connector) buttons on aids only affect balance control.

They also cannot be programmed much, some features can only be turned on or off. Eg there’s no way to say that buttons should affect the volume of the stream itself. You have app. Or streaming source directly (eg call, media sounds etc)
