I connected the ADAT output of my audio interface to the input of the TV converter. I am not getting any sound, and the power light remains red. IMy phone indicates some streaming with a small white line going from left to right, but I have no idea what that means. No sound in my hearing aids. I have paired the hearing aids and depaired them as well and repaired them. There is no light lit on the little streaming tv symbol, next to the power button either. Please advise what I am doing wrong.
Could you please send more information?
Please let us know manufacturer and model of the devices you are having this issues.
Send us:
what hearing aids model want you connect? e.g. Oticon More, Phonak Audeo etc.
your type of your TV converter ?
the model of the audio interface, and/or the TV model or the audio device you use for playback?
Have you already tried to change the settings of your audio interface and change the ADAT output setting to S/PDIF / PCM ?
have you already tried to connect the TV converter to an different audio out port of your audio interface? e.g. analog audio out port (cinch)
Please note: The TV Connector of the hearing aid manufacturers have an digital otical TOSlink input port as S/PDIF input for a stereo signal.
You are referreing to ADAT , and there is a difference
between ADAT vs. TosLink S/PDIF)
see here1 and here1.
The abbreviation ADAT stands for Alesis Digital Audio Tape and as a trademark originally belongs to the manufacturer Alesis. (mixing consoles)
TOSlink ( stands for Toshiba Link)
A normal TOSlink is the optical version of S-PDIF and support two channels (stereo)
ADAT lightpipe, although it uses the same cable, is capable of multi-channel (8 channels).
ADAT Lightpipe data format is not compatible with S/PDIF
Excerpt from one of the links above:
“TOSLINK is a connection type. It is the same for ADAT and optical S/PDIF. While ADAT and S/PDIF are not compatible, they do both use a TOSLINK connector and cable. There are devices that can put both ADAT or S/PDIF through their TOSLINK connector”.
And for connecting the TV Connector the TOSlink has to be set the supported format S/PDIF (as PCM), if this is possible and supported by your audio interface!
Please check if you can set your " audio interface " settings can be changed to S/PDIF (PCM).
Alternatively connect the Connector via an alternative analog cable.
