iCube II and Noahlink Wireless

Hi, I’ve been reading through lots of Forum Q&A’s and need some advice re programming devices please. Currently I have B90’s which I program with the iCube II device. I understand from Forum comments that iCubeII can not be used to program the M90 model I have recently acquired and that a “NoahLink Wireless” device is required.
My question please … If I upgrade the Target software to the latest version, will I still have the capability to program the B90’s through iCube II (to use as backups) … and also program the M90’s through a NoahLink Wireless device. Or do I need to retain and run both old and new versions of Target software? One would assume backward compatibility but who knows LOL. Thanks for any advice and related suggestions.

Yes, I am capable to program my Audéo M90 's with Noahlibk Wireless and Bolero B90’s with serial Hi-pro V1. So it’s backwards compatible.

Thanks pic. Do you mean that V 6.1 is the last official support for iCube? Seems from another response that iCube is working with V7 … but as you say “cross fingers” so I’m going to figure out how to keep old software running too. I wonder how Phonic expects audi’s to support their clients with older technology and also stay on current software? Maybe same way I plan … run 2 sets of software. Tku.

  2. iCubeII is Phonak proprietary Wireless programming device, iCubeII is backwards compatible so it can take the place of iCube
  3. Hi Pro is a Wired programming device, you need cables and sometimes other connectors

I think Zerbas was talking about iCubeII working for a version 7x Target.

Not sure about that, iCube ll is not gonna work on iPFG and core platform.

Thanks tenkan. I do have the iCube II so all OK re the software version but I do appreciate your offer. I’m going to assume worst case that some future Target version will drop support for iCubeIi so will keep a copy of the current version to future proof.

Just don’t take any updates (or don’t be the first to take updates) because nothing in the new updates will be useful for your older devices.

As an aside: Did you acquire the disposable battery Marvel-model, or did you happen to acquire a few years old built-in rechargeable battery (and-soon-to-be-bricked because you can’t replace the battery except via factory-repair) Marvel-model?

Thanks. That was a great observation about not taking upgrades because there won’t be anything relevant for the old models. Makes good sense. I got the old rechargeable model which I’ve now learned has a few battery issues including requirement for factory only replacement. Won’t fall for that again! LOL

Return it if it was a recent purchase. EBay has a decent return policy.

I use my credit card chargeback-rights. Though chargeback rights may be dependent on country where purchased? All it requires is documenting your email attempt to return it (for a full refund including shipping) and then file a dispute with your credit card company. In 60 or 90 days the CC company claws the money back.

Actually it’s not odd, iCube ll is not supported on the Marvel platform, please show a screenshot from target with your M70 (The M is for Marvel) so obviously you have older models then the Marvel, actually there was one Belong with the sword chip B-Direct that used Noahlink wireless all the others in Belong used iCube ll, I think target 8.1 was the last version to support iCube ll as well.
And you definitely will not be able to use the Paradise platform with iCube ll.
