Do you participate on Instagram?
Is there some way to participate there in a hearing loss community?
I find out very little. It takes a lot of time.

Thanks
I’ve tried to network when I see someone with hearing aids.
I ask how they like them. Are they working well? Where did you get them?
My Hearing Instrument specialist used to work in hearing aid manufacturing
He referred me to:
Canadian Hard of Hearing Association
chha.ca
I’ve been on site. I haven’t joined. There’s a fee

I’ve been desperate to hear. I’ve worked hard and learned a lot.
I get harassed at work. I get criticized. People that know me best are affected severely because I’m hard of hearing. But think I’ve impeded improvement. Not helped.
If my hearing aids were in fact medical equipment the three years of heck wouldn’t have happened.
I want to hear and understand. That’s all

You know Dave, I came to the conclusion a long time ago, I had to let my hearing past go… Grieving over hearing loss, just makes you ill, we have to except our lot, and move on… I was a Grandfather, at 36 years old, a Great-Grandfather at 56, I am 68 now, and if I am am fortunate enough to live to my mid 70’s, I might make Great-Great-Grandfather, who knows? I now have 10 Great-Grandchildren, my point is, life moves on, and we have to move on with it, for me, I don’t have any qualms about spending cash on hearing aids, I buy the best that I can afford, and I do so gladly, if it improves my hearing ever so slightly or my lifestyle, and overall wellbeing… So, come next November or December, a new Phonak Naida, might be on the go? And I will buy it, I have saved the cash already, it’s only a waiting game, to see what transpires…Take it easy, cheers Kev ![]()

I think Instagram can be useful for finding hearing loss communities, but it can take some time to find the right accounts. Try searching hashtags like #HearingLoss, #HardOfHearing, and #DeafCommunity, then follow a few active accounts and check their comments for discussions. You may find smaller communities that are easier to engage with.
