I have a pair of Phonak P90 hearing aids. My computer is a Lenovo T520 laptop that is running Mint Linux and I want to install the MyPhonak app or another app that will serve the same needs and purposes.
When I go to the google Play store there are a lot of choices (over 100 or more) but I’m looking for a recommendation for one that is known to run and work well on Linux.
There is no native software from Phonak for Linux.
You want Android in a box45 to run Android apps such as myPhonak on your Linux system.
If you want to run Phonak Target, the programming software, you’ll have to run a virtual machine (QEMU or VMWare) with Windows 10.
I see that he knows nothing about applications and mentioned that there are a lot of them and that he still wants to allow them to run on Linux. It seems to me that he thinks they work on the windows as well.
“Target” is not for everyone and it needs connection hardware like “Noah link wireless”. I think it is better not to touch anything, especially because it can damage the hearing with unprofessional use or something worse.

I haven’t thought of installing myphonak app on the computer. I’m not sure any android emulator would work, because of the fact that you need BT_LE for remote control, and I’m not sure if it’s possible to even pair laptop with aids.
When I tried mine, I could pair with classic, but not sure if I even saw LE there available for pairing.
Anyhow, if you’d managed do that, then you need to forward that signal to the emulator, which could be tricky. Back in the days when I did android development for a while, I used genymotion I think it was called, but bunch of features didn’t work so we weren’t able to test it. I guess that changed, but I don’t have any recommendations.

OP explicitly said myphonak app, and google play and such, never mentioned target programming sw.
Target programming sw for aids isn’t remote control, but programming. And works perfectly fine through virtualbox machine and win installed on it. That’s my setup
So, in any case, OP now has some guidelines
@jacker: for remote controlling your aids, only myphonak app will do it. It’s proprietary and no one had interest in reverse engineering so far.
Personalized hearing experience and health data trackin...
this one it for remote controlling your aids and the one you need for P90 aids
And per design it’s to be used on smartphones… I honestly wouldn’t waste my time trying to make it run on any computer, let alone linux with emulators or whatnot (I’m on Fedora roughly since version 3, first two were too buggy for my taste, I went with red hat back then, and knowing what I know how BT is finicky, I wouldn’t tease even my enemy into trying that)
I’d just go and buy cheapest android smartphone with android let’s say 5-6 and above. For remote control that’s enough anyway
