I bought a pair of Jabra Enhance Pro 20s from eBay for $140, but they won’t charge. I called Jabra support and they told me it’s a relatively new model, but wouldn’t help. They said I should go to Cosco, but they aren’t mine and I don’t even have a Cosco membership. Anyone know if I can have my audiologist who services ReSound send them in to GN?

Jabra aids are exclusive to Costco, so I’m almost certain your audiologist cannot send them to Resound. Contact Costco and tell them that you were given the aids. Go with someone that has a membership (or call them).

If Costco agrees to fix the aids, you’ll need to pay the membership fee. I believe they charge approximately $150 per aid for repairs.

If you bought the aids from eBay and the seller did not say “parts only” (which means they are not in working condition), file an INAD (item not as describe). INADs requests almost always refund the $$$ (it has to be within 30 days from the day your items were delivered).

I wouldn’t buy an aid with rechargeable battery from eBay (used) unless the item offers the eBay optional 1 or 2yrs warranty (Asurion)

There are also independent repair services. You may find someone local, or you may have to use a mail-in service.

Costco membership is now $65/year. My first aids, from Costco, needed repair 4.5 years after purchase. IIRC, a complete rebuild and upgrade cost $270/pair, but that was in 2014.

A few things:

  1. How are you trying to charge the Jabra aid? Did you get a physical Jabra Charger with your purchase? They are different from earlier ReSound chargers.
  2. If so, try resetting the charger electronics. On the bottom is a small indented circle that clicks when it is pressed (with a toothpick or something as small as the tip of a ballpoint pen). You must feel the click or you are not doing it right. Give it a few seconds and then insert the aids in the charger.
  3. After you pair your aids with the latest version of the Jabra app (not the earlier Resound app) during normal charging, the app will show you that the aids are charging.(or fully charged) in the Status page. Additionally Google Pixel Settings → Connected devices will also show the percentage charge for each device.
  4. At every Costco I’ve used, you don’t need to be a member to visit the Hearing Aid Center. Just tell the greeters where you’re going in the store (works for glasses, too). Bring your aids and I’m sure they can diagnose your problems, and if you need repair or purchase, they can sell you a membership.

When I got my Jabras a year ago (actually got the aids in August), I had to join to get the aids. Maybe it differs according to the store? You would think that that would be the same across the board, but maybe not. I would love to not have to renew to get service.
