You will probably run into a synchronization mismatch (echo) between a Bluetooth signal to your and some split signal to a speaker. You could buy an audio delay device for the latter, but these are rather expensive (around 80 USD). A better solution is to buy a dual Bluetooth transmitter (around 12 USD from AliExpress); one signal goes to your HAs, the other goes to a Bluetooth receiver (again a few dollars) that feeds a loudspeaker. You will probably also need an amplifier for the latter (around 12 USD).
Thanks… my desk isn’t big enough for all those gadgets… Ha! Guess I might start saving my pennies and look at a new laptop that might support LE audio (mine does not) - I need to research the whole LE audio thing… I’m wondering IF a laptop that supports it, MIGHT get me what I want?
Windows is fairly inept at the newer Bluetooth tech. If you do have access to techie, get them to upgrade your Bluetooth module to a much newer model. This will not fix the problems with Windows but It will resolve the Bluetooth / Bluetooth LE connections problem at a hardware level. You and also disable you internal Bluetooth and use a dongle that is 5.3 or 5.4 capable.
Flairmesh is doing more than most suppliers and is somewhat responsive to requests you should ask them. At some point Using will allow broadcast BT LE to connect to a TV streamer and a speaker. But that needs a BT 5.3/5.4 dongle with Auracast support.
Now as to audio out. I know others have said this too.
Yes your TV streamer is a good solution for one person but you must split the signal into the streamer and then a compatible speaker. ANY external speaker with either TOSlink( I saw you discussing using and adapter) or 3.5mm jacks will work. Use the splitters mentioned to connect to your needed device, in this case the TV Streamer, and the speaker. Done. If you go with TOS link I suggest a cheap tv soundbar, a TOS splitter box (mine was $20us), TV streamer and the needed TOS cables. Truly the 3.5 cables will be cheaper and simpler but it can be done either way and maybe if you want to address a large group the soundbar will be better.
Someday with all parties on board we will have laptop to Auracast capable to speaker and no wires!
Thanks! I might ask my local tech guy what it would cost to upgrade my laptop to newer bluetooth … It doesn’t sound like I can get what my ideal setup it eg audio to my hearing aids and other being able to hear from laptop without the need for external speakers or headphones, etc?
