My Phonak app clarity adj equivalent within Target

In the bedroom at night I have watched TV with CC enabled. It allows me to follow along without straining for soft language. I decided I wanted to get away from that.

While watching TV, in TV program, I selected adjust and then clarity. It made a difference.

So now I’d like to make this adjustment permanent using Target. I’d also like to adjust the Phone call programs, as many cell phone conversations are lousy (yes I know it may have to do with the carrier).

I looked at Automatic Fine Tuning ==> Speech in Calm/Quiet and the problem “speech too dull” seemed to be the only one that would adjust the mid and treble.

Any other suggestions?

How do I apply my patient’s myPhonak app adjustments to their hearing aid settings in Phonak Target?

selecting Clarity (in the equalizer) pushing Middle frequency up one increment, which is 3 , and Treble is upped two incremets, which is 6 dB.

Middle: 500-2.5kHz
Treble: >1.5kHz

Select the desired programm
then
upping Middle 3 dB

The “speech is too dull” setting will increase the gain at high frequencies but also decrease the gains at low frequencies. With your , I don’t know if decreasing the lows is optimal, especially if you want to do this in the automatic program → Speech in quiet.

The clarity setting increases the highs (more than the mids): You can try the Fine Tuning => Speech TV and Radio => unintelligible but I think it is better if you create a separate program in Target called TV and increase the mid+highs manually just for this program (like @firenzel said). I think it is better to start with 2dB(mid) and 4dB(high) and increase this if more as needed. I wouldn’t mess the “Speech in Quiet” until you know well what you are doing.

Wouldn’t it be simpler to create a new program in the Phonak phone app using the clarity settings you set up?

From what I remember any custom program created & saved via the app is erased the next time you connect to Target. Before I became a Target user each time the audi connected me, everything I created on the app was gone. Now that I’m a user, I’d just rather make adjustmemts on Target. If it’s not to my liking I blow it up and start over.

A retiree with access to hi-tech is deadly. :slight_smile:
