Hello everyone
I am new to this forum. My dad wear’s and I am trying to program his new Audicus Cantos. He has a pair of Intuis that are 4+ years old and his hearing loss changed so they needed to be adjusted. We saw two audiologists and both “strongly” suggested we buy new HAs. Either said they don’t work on Siemens. As per their recommendations it would cost us close to $6500 for new HAs!
So I took him to Costco and bought the Rexton Trax 42. Costco did not do a good programming job, the sound was harsh, clipped and speech undecipherable. I could hear the hissing when I stood near him. Went back at least 7-8 times and all he (the dispenser) would do is increase the volume a bit every time. That’s what he thought was needed! Then he himself told us “these won’t work, just return them” - so we did!
So I read on this forum and bought myself a hi-pro, cables and got the Connexx 6 and began programming his Intuis. They came out so great that my dad loves them now. But since those are CICs he can’t wear too long as his head feels stuffed and hurts. But he says the sound is awesome. So I thought of buying him as those are much more comfortable. I ended up buying the Audicus Cantos. Initially they came programmed as bad as the Costco Rextons. So I took them in and gave them a print out of the settings I did on the Intuis. After that they got it 80% right, which is great. But it still needs some minor adjustments. But I don’t think this is the right approach, I mail them, explain to their customer service and they in turn talk to their techs, and then mail back. Its a waste of money and time. Plus risk of loss in transit. Moreover information gets distorted in translation from me to customer service to tech. So I bought myself the 312 adapter and installed the Hansaton connexx 7.2 with Hansafit 7.2.6 but it does not support the Audicus Canto. Audicus guys tell me they don’t support self programming but were kind enough to tell me I need Hansafit 7.3.0, or that’s what they use.
I have installed Connexx 7.4.3 with Sifit 7.4.1 and Rexfit 7.4.0 and Hansafit 7.2.6. The error I get is “The detected hearing instrument is not supported”. I am guessing if I somehow get and install the Hansafit 7.3.0, I will be able to play. Hence my post. Can someone please provide kindly?
Thanks a lot.
