I’ve been using Phonak Nathos Nova aids for a while but the audiology department recently offered me Signia Stretta aids. There’s no doubt that the hearing quality is better with the Signias but, after much trial and error and a few emails to Signia, I’ve found that they don’t work bidirectionally with an Android phone so handsfree calls aren’t possible … something that’s important these days. I’ll be going back to the Phonaks and returning the Signias on my next visit to audiology.

I’d like to get T-loop added to the Phonaks but the audiology dept failed to do it and I’ve subsequently read that not all versions of Nathos Nova have the feature - how can I check?

I also have been given Phonak Nathos Nova - the rechargeable ones, and when I asked about the T loop they said that the T loop isn’t included in the rechargeable version - apparently Phonak was not able to include rechargeable, AND T loop in the Marvel line (from what I can find out).

This conversation was about 2 years ago however, so if they have a newer Phonak this may now not be an issue.

I will say though the 2-way handsfree on Phonak is AWFUL, no-one on the other side of the line can hear me, and the one-way handsfree actually does you a favour there, annoyingly (I have Oticon Sage atm)

Depending on which Signia Stretta you could have tcoil on the Signia, an option for some and built-in to the battery door, the would be required for android, as you know only , but I’d be putting my quality of my hearing above how good or bad the Bluetooth is!

Quick update … I now have T-Loop on my NHS non-rechargeable Phonak Novas - the reason it couldn’t be added at the earlier attempt was that the program list was full and one item needed to be removed to “make space” for the loop. The 2-way handsfree function continues to work perfectly (with a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra).
