Online battery purchase

I usually buy a large box, maybe 80 batteries (size 312). Since I only use one aid, that 80-pack lasts a long time.

I need to re-order, but…I can’t remember where I bought them the last time. I’ve checked emails and texts for any clue, but haven’t had any success yet. I remember I got a pretty good price and wanted to go back to the same place. I thought it was through either this forum or its parent website. I can’t find anywhere here where I can buy batteries here.

So, question #1) did this place sell batteries in the past, or am I imagining things?

#2) where’s a good place to mail-order a box?

Thanks.

OK, this is an EASY one, cuz I order 312s by the bushel and the peck all the time at Amazon. Click here18, and take your pick of sellers.

OR! You can buy them at Costco - not sure they sell these 312s online tho.

Sure, I’m all over the Amazon right now, too. But I thought there was a link, somewhere, through this site that sold batteries. I remember getting a pretty good deal, too

Well, great and not so great. You can keep watching for Duracell 80 packs, and shop elsewhere in the meantime.

I went ahead and ordered the 60-pack of Rayovac. After poking around on the internets, it’s still a pretty good deal.

Now I have to figure out how to open the new child-proof packaging without ending up needing stitches.

Ah, GOT IT. Looks Like Abram Bailey stepped in with the answer: Duracell. Even if they no longer offer a discount price here, I do have to say that for my power usage, Duracell is pretty much my go-to brand - no matter the cost. Costco’s Kirkland batteries are right up there, too!

By comparison, PowerOne batts may be cheaper, but not last as long.

Not possible! Better solution is to accept that a surgical self-stitching First Aid kit is now necessary to carry on your person along with the ADULT+CHILD PROOF battery packs.

I’d like to insist on RUBBER CRUTCHES being the only thing sold thru all medical supply outlets, cuz let’s face it: they are child-proof.

I suspect that the batteries in childproof packaging would sell well as a bundle with a first aid kit!
People have suggested drilling out the connecting nubs holding the plastic layers together, using a Dremel tool with a rotary saw blade attached, setting fire to the cardboard backing very briefly, and using aviation snips. It kinda makes me glad I have rechargeable .

There’s something WRONG with the packaging when it comes with a 2-step protocol for ACCESSING them. Yeah, like I’m gonna put my knife and fork down at the dinner table when my battery goes dead in a restaurant, hail the waiter, ask for BIG pair of scissors, drum fingers on tabletop while waiter finds the weapon and hands it over to me, then don a miner’s cap to see what I’m doing in the dim light, position battery pack verrrrrry carefully over my plate (wouldn’t want to drop a TINY battery in case a 2-yr-old is crawling under the tables!), and excise said battery to caaaarrrreeeeffffuuuuulllly insert into my sleek Phonaks.

If so inclined to go this route, be sure to keep this card handy in your wallet next to the Medicare and Gap plan cards:

Amazon Bascs 312s

You should also keep a card verifying your blood type, in case you need refilling after dealing with the battery packaging!

You description of the procedure at table while dining out is superb! I love it!

There is a thread where a member talks about passing a lighter on the paper part. He says it peels off.
He also said to be careful because the batteries can come flying out.

You can get prescriptions filled and request a normal cap vs child-proof. It’s too bad hearing aid batteries have to be locked ways from users like this.

And while that sounds hilarious … I wouldn’t want it to happen to me. Annoying that WE with need for hearing aid batteries are made to crawl around like a 3-yr old and try hard - REALLY REALLY HARD! - to get our batteries out of their packaging.

Eyeglasses can shatter if a ballpeen hammer is applied to them, but we don’t make those who wear prescription lenses jump through hoops to get pair.

Those with COPD may need an oxygen tank. We don’t make them sit inside the car, windows rolled up, doors locked to use the tank - JUST IN CASE someone stumbles into their path lighting a cigarette.

Ah … it’s just ABSURD. Parents/guardians need to do their job. That takes attention to detail and commitment. My parents had easily accessible hearing aid packs when I was growing up. I am NO rocket scientist, but managed to avoid disaster even without 24x7 monitoring. Never craved popping a hearing aid battery down the hatch. Crisis averted.

Open the package in a bathtub with the drain plugged? Left them spill. Easy to pick up in the tub. Maybe even sweep them up and put in your container.
