Welcome to the forum, sure it’s available, good you have the experience to set it up on your Mac OS, as some people run into issues.

I’m using apple silicon
Be aware that computers with (ARM processor/non-Intel) processors will not be able to use the Noahlink Wireless because there is no ARM driver for the Noahlink Wireless.
You can explore the Genie 2 software on Apple silicon by installing the programm in a Windows VM, but you can not use the Apple computer with M1/M2 ARM CPU for programming , because no ARM driver available for the Noahlink Wireless programming device.

Hello @firenzel and @tenken,
I’m new here and need your help. I have been wearing hearing aids from morning to evening for 7 years and since the beginning of the year I have had a pair of Oticon Real 1 hearing aids and I think they are very good. Now I want to adapt the devices to my everyday situations, but I don’t want to have to go to my acoustician every time for a small change. This is very time consuming and frustrating. I would be very happy if a link for the Oticon Genie 2 software and corresponding instructions were provided here. I already have a Noah Link. Many many thanks

Welcome to the forum, sure it’s available, great your giving a go, it’s all pretty easy enough, since you already have the Noahlink wireless you’ll be up and running in no time.

Hi @firenzel I’m new here, My mom got a pair of Oticon Zircon. I like them, but I would really like to download a copy of the Oticon Genie 2 2023 fitting software.
Does anyone have a link they’d be willing to share?
I have a Windows 10 PC. I think I can run Genie 2 on this machine. Which wireless adapter do you recommend, I saw the Noahlink Wireless.

Hi Tenkan et al!..As this doesn’t exactly discuss , (though if I keep these I will be DIYing it), I hope that I’m still on the right topic…After completing my (insurance mandated) 60 day trial with my Oticon Reals, I’m now half way through my 60 day trial with my Oticon Owns…I went to the owns because I really didnt like the behind the ear design and they would fall off each time I removed my glasses or a Covid mask!
I was a sound engineer for 40 years until my hearing loss made that work impossible and as a result I am ASTOUNDED at how bad the sonic quality of these Owns are, even worse than the Reals!..My Audiologist is very patient and has made many adjustments but at this point I wonder if they will ever work, even if I have the Genie software.
The problem is this…The problem goes way beyond (easily correctable ) EQ…There are constant and major sound field artifacts to the point that everything sounds the same, be it close or far, loud or soft. to the point that I cannot concentrate on, or locate, a given sound source ,and everything is just a cacophony!..( Interesting that before the HAs, I couldn’t locate sound due to high frequency hearing loss and with the HAs, I can locate sound due to spatial artifacting!)…I’m sure that this artifacting is all caused by the “active” processing…Compression, expansion and phase cancellation!..I’ve asked my Audiologist if she could just turn all those things off and just leave me with a “simple” EQ and gain device and she has said that it wasn’t possible (perhaps when I DIY it I’ll find that’s not quite the truth) and this brings me to my question…
Before this trial is up, I want to know should I just return the Owns and just get cheap HAs with none of that dynamic processing???..They would have to at least have an app with multiple EQ bands each with adjustable Q ( band width)…Has anybody had a similar experience and can anyone suggest an otc HA with those controls…Many thanks to all!

I’m sure that this artifacting is all caused by the “active” processing…Compression, expansion and phase cancellation!.
Yep could well be this and a whole lot more going on, you should post your as this would be helpful.
I’ve asked my Audiologist if she could just turn all those things off and just leave me with a “simple” EQ and gain device
Actually it’s possible to an extent, for starters just having the music program added and some tweaking in that program can help quite a lot.
Before this trial is up, I want to know should I just return the Owns and just get cheap HAs with none of that dynamic processing???..
Again quite possibly a simple set of hearing aids would do the trick, still a bit of processing going on but not nearly as a fully featured model, or you could try a base entry level from Oticon.
Have you considered trialing another brand, got a Costco nearby?

Thx Tenkan, as always… is attached.
I have the “Music” program and it is much better than the “general” program (which is unusable) with much less of that artifacting, and it is my “everyday” program…Right now it needs some EQ control to improve it…All pitched up at 2-3K so everything is harsh and thin…No warmth and no real high end …I think these will reproduce 8K…( I hear more high end in music without the HAs than with them!')…ll be seeing my Audi on Tuesday for that.
Yes, I’m considering trialing a different brand…Because of my insurance regulations, I have approx another 30 days to decide and then if a want to try another brand (my 2, 60 day trials will be over) I’ll
have to hook up with another and Audiologist…A pain but doable!

Yeah your loss aren’t so bad at all, word recognition on the right is pretty low, but you have a good ear (so to speak) !
Ok well if it were me, I’d trial another brand, if your really into music/live and jamming away you may find it difficult for your Audiologist to understand exactly what you want, they will push speech over music reproduction all day long, I’d also point out a lot of forum members are really complaining about Oticon’s music program, as in it " sucks" I can’t remember what/when it happened, the newer models changed the way the music program works for the worst, @Volusiano could give you a spin on the issue.
Own is not as good as any because for one, the microphones are limited in how they work, so maybe you actually need something more fully featured and not so basic.
Bluetooth streaming I take it worked well in your testing.

Might I please have the link to ‘Oticon Genie’ software.
I was just talking to a new Hearing Aid Clinic and they suggested the Oticon Real.
I’m NOT planning on doing any programming, but I want to understand the available features and functions before going in for a fitting.
Thanks
Kevin

Hi there, sure, that’s a good idea, get familiar with how it works can sure help understand what can or cannot be done.

Hi Tenkan…Yes, right ear is much worse…Around 1995 I had chicken pox (as an adult) and perhaps that impacted my right ear…This happened when I still had normal hearing and I’ve never been able (not for lack of trying) to get a definitive diagnosis. It led directly to me losing my career!
So much to say but I need to say that (perhaps because I was a sound engineer my whole life ), I’ve found it virtually impossible for people to understand what I’m talking about on this subject so our dialog is “music to my ears”…That having been said, I dont want to overload you with info…There is something that I want to run by you however because when I talk to my Audi about this, I’m really knocking my head against the wall and it directly speaks to whether I should try another brand.
It concerns “double imaging”…With both these Owns (they are half shell with dual mikes, not ) and the Oticon that I has before, and in all programs, there is an additional sound approx 33ms (1 NTSC 29.97 frame) after all percussive sounds…This results in a “flam” effect in all percussive sounds such as tapping or laying something down on a table and is VERY unnatural. and makes everything sound like it is broken. (Here is a link to a short video is to illustrate a “flam” which is a drum term,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ujmfxvr0bQ2)…If 2 similar sound are mixed together with 1 being delayed a couple of MS, the result will be a “swishy”, “phasy” effect, but this "flam is different, and if it were the result of (processing) delay, there would have to be an enormous delay between the direct acoustic sound coming through the vent and the processed sound coming through the speaker ,which I dont believe these have…To test for this I had my Audi provide me with “power domes” for my BTE HAs which completely block “direct” sounds, and I also (temporally) blocked the vents in my half shells so that ONLY processed sound reached my ear, no direct acoustic sound at all ,and the problem did not change, so this double imaging is NOT the result of a delay…My Audi has tried to adjust this out but with no success!
Though I believe that this “flam” or doubling is not caused by delay and seems to be inherent in the Oticon process ( I’m guessing that it actually is “designed in” like the warble that I hear to improve dialog intelligibility), it does bring to mind the question of delay…Widex advertises that they have the shortest delay and claim that reduces or eliminated that “swishy”, “phasy” effect…Does anyone have any experience with this "percussive doubling or "Widex being better than. Oticon because of less delay?
Thx all for bearing with me in this long description but I just dont know how to make it shorter…Barry

Yeah that’s a weird artifact, so I’ve had issues with similar, these were the result of too much processing, extra features set too high (aggressive) Phonak SoundRecover as an example, but in your case could be a combination of compression, knee points, or as simple as the formula being used, Oticon have something that others don’t in being able to have different formulas set up in each program, I think you only get 4 programs, so you could ask your clinic to add a couple to try out instead of just VAC+
Google “The Compression Handbook” as well, good read for someone like you.
Sorry I’m not up to play with Oticon Genie software on a personal level, as my last programming disaster with trying to get Oticon to work for me was OPN models.

I am searching for the Genie2 2023 for my „Real“-. I use the wireless Noahlink. I think that I need the newer version of Genie2 (2023) to work with the Real-HA. Greetings, Ingo

Hi All, I am new here. Glad to see helping people here. I need to fine tune the Oticon hearing aids myself to suit better for the outdoor & mall environments. So I searched and found this forum. I also found the Noahlink wireless on Amazon. If you could provide me the link to the Genie 2 software it would be a great help for me. Many thanks .
