Oticon Intent 1 - Right Aid Has Gone Silent

3 times in 50 days of ownership, the right hearing has gone completely silent or extremely low volume that lasts from 5 -30 minutes. Then starts working properly again.

The first 2 times it I was able to get it working again by rebooting it a few times. Yesterday I couldn’t get it working for about 30 minutes. After 5 minutes of messing with it, I put it in the UV dryer for 20 minutes and its worked fined since.

Anyone else experience this or know what would cause it? I thought maybe the Otto Ease I use might be seeping past the cause issues, but this seems like a mic issue to me.

I could has the H.I.S. send it back for repair or replacement, but I hate being without it for a couple of weeks.

Years ago when I had Siemens (now Rexton etc.) they would do that if a loud sharp noise like a glass clinking or hammer pounding. Sometimes it would last a few minutes but sometimes an hour or two. No matter what I did they wouldn’t reset until they wanted to. I think it was noise reduction program on steroids. Once it happened, they would do it at the slightest sound. So frustrating and the audiologist would be lost too. That was the main reason I switched to Phonak ( KS10s). Have audiologist tone down the noise reduction and it might help.

Interesting. I did change the Neural Noise Supression to maximum in the R - heaing aid. I’ll reduce it a little and see if it continues to happen.

Only thing is that I don’t remember anything noisy going on at the time it happened. Worth giving it a shot though.

Once mine was triggered it only took the slightest noise to do it again even batteries out overnight didn’t work.
