Hellloooooo! I had posted previously on my issues finding an audiologist in network who would actually give me my hearing aids (as I am 100% covered with zero out of pocket costs with our insurance). I have moderate cookie bite loss.
3rd audiologist was the charm!!
I finally got my Wednesday!!
They are so light and I can’t even feel them! I can already hear my kids better. It’s definitely going to be an adjustment period, but man oh man, what a difference.
The audiologist was so amazing, she heard the rigamarole I’d been through over the last 2 and a half months and ordered the aids so I could have them today at my first appt with her.
I had no idea Oticon gives a gift?! She ordered me (without knowing) the microphone that others can clip to them. This was the exact accessory I was going to purchase!! I’m applying to grad schools and am so worried about hearing lectures.
Unfortunately, it was a dud, but, she’s getting it replaced for me.
I had tried a second office before landing on this amazing AUD. He only sold Phonak, so I did a 2 week trial, but only lasted four days. They were so heavy and painful. I have small ears & ear canals, and the domes + lock caused me so much pain in addition to the domes coming out of my canals constantly. I also felt like he was not happy about taking me on a client, it was a bit strange.
The difference between the way Phonak and Oticon sound is night and day. Phonak was far too intense and tinny for me.
I just wanted to share, as I finally had a good experience since finding out about my hearing loss. ![]()
