Oticon Xceed UP 1 - what is a good price in your opinion?

Depends what country you are in. In the UK a good price would probably be around £2800 - £3500, assuming a private audiologist with fitting and aftercare.

In the U.S that would probably be in the region of $3000 to $4000. But I am not sure you would get it so low there. Maybe $5000 to $7000.

Thanks glucas, that seems expensive and a wide range from low to high prince. I wonder if there is anyway to buy direct or just order one retail from somewhere myself? One I saw online listed for $2,065 but most seem to be listed for around $3,000. Again that’s a 50% swing in price. KInd of hard to know what’s real and what’s a good deal when the range is that wide.

Well, the swing in price is due to in part to variations to what different providers will charge, but largely it’s because of what you are getting. If the price is really low, like the low $2,000s, then you need to check what you are getting. If they are just sending you the aid and you don’t get custom moulds, no fitting or REM and no aftercare, then there is your explanation for the price.

I assume you’ve been in the hearing aid game for a while with a severe/profound loss, so I assume you would understand that. If you are a DIYer and have access to Noahlink/Genie 2 then you can cut your costs. Otherwise, the swing in the other direction will be due to having to pay audiologist for those fitting and aftercare services.
