I saw your ! I wonder why my audiologist insists that I need Phonak (I got my old Oticons from her, so it’s not for financial reasons).
And thanks for your replies, Glucas!

but my audiologist says that only Phonak works for my level of loss.
This comment just doesn’t make any sense. All brands of hearing aids can deal with your hearing loss.
Maybe a misunderstanding???

In the video, Matthew Allsop states that is not available at launch. He’s corrected on LinkedIn by the Oticon USA VP who says it IS available at launch.

It’s great to get confirmation for my opinion. My audiologist has told me many times that Oticon aids are not adequate for my level of loss. Definitely not a misunderstanding. I wonder why she thinks that.
I’m expecting to have to get my next pair of aids from Costco, but if I do get them from my current audiologist, I will just have to tell her that I want to try Oticons.

All of Costco’s hearing aids should fit your hearing loss unless there is something that doesn’t show on your .
I suspect you will really like Costco. Especially after your audiologist only fits you to Phonak statements.
The Oticon Zeal sounds like an attractant for young people wanting really nice Bluetooth devices that almost don’t need hearing aids.

That is a bit odd. Unless you’re a heavy user of Roger devices?

My first hearing aids were from Costco - Bernafons. The Costco people were nice, I agree. Later, my health insurance started covering hearing aids, so I went to the audiologist at my clinic.

Thanks for your comment, Neville. I do have a Roger mic, although I don’t use it all the time. I guess not every audiologist is as well informed as one might hope!

The Oticon edumic is not as good as the Roger mics are. So if one does depend on the Roger in some cases then that might support a comment that Oticon aren’t adequate, even if its a bit of a simplification.

That makes sense. I like the Roger but I wouldn’t want it to be a deal breaker. I have some time, though, before I get my next aids. Current ones are three years old.

What color Virto R did you get? While the video demo ones are often black one review mentioned most are ordered in skin tone. I wonder about skin tone faceplate and then transparent or red/blue shell.
Did you get the removal handle? If not, to remove her aids do you press on the backside of the ear like Phonak suggests in the manual?

Actually I can’t remember, as I have no eyesight colour didn’t matter to me that much. I think I got black though. My wife says she can’t really see them unless she looks.
I did get the little removal chord, it’s just a bit easier to get them out that way. I do’nt like things pushing into my ear very much so it works better this way. It’s tiny again doesn’t really show unless you look for it as far as I understand.

Oticon’s overall product offering except has not been particularly competitive. They are significant underrepresented in the category and its current power offering is more than 6 years old. I think it makes sense to launch a highly competitive instant-fit as well as a miniBTE plus power at EUHA. Both based on the existing Sirius platform. I agree with Abram, why should this have any influence on its normal platform launch cycles, which from a historic perspective would suggest to be in Q1/26

What is the level of hearing loss these can fit up to?

I got cocoa. I’m 29 and was born with moderate-severe hearing loss. In my opinion the purpose of hearing aids is to connect you with the world and I feel like black aids will say to someone next to me “that person has ear buds in, I won’t try to talk to them”. I’d rather them be a color that maybe indicates that I am wearing hearing aids. I just got the Phonak Virto infinio R hearing aids a couple month ago and I’m liking them.

Did you get them with a removal pull? I’m testing a pair without that and it can be hard to remove the aids, at least until I get the hang of it.

You are way off, they just released a LONG awaited rechargeable version for their Opn S PP bte 105 . This is a clear signal what is next to come. First, since the Own is a battery based on Sirius chip, there is a clear indication a regular rite (312) might come my guess end of 2026. I would also guess there is a rite for pediatrics which also need to come. Since Zeal won’t be fully released, stand to reason there is a minimum of two years, they need to release it for other demand companies in addition to Refresh for the Xceed refresh. My guess, is Announcement by 2027 Euha, 2028 released this is a no brainer guess.
