I use mostly noise and I turn it down. Works OK for me. On hifi music I finally do not have to use headphones anymore.

I noticed in the fitting software there’s an icon that allows different sounds to be played. Presumably for just the reason you mentioned. I don’t have NoahLink Wireless to be able to test it but don’t see any other reason it would be there. Surprised fitters don’t use it. I took a video with me to have sound to use for testing at my last fitting. Unfortunately the way I’d stored it, it wouldn’t queue up when I needed it but no reason this can’t be done for testing that I can see.

I read through this thread so realize the issue for you is already settled, but since I’m trialing the Philips 9030 I’ll add this.
There’s a program called Airplane that cuts down background noise. It’s not airplane mode. Not sure why the call it Airplane but it’s purpose I’m told is to latch onto speech in front of you. I find it snd the Noise program work better than Speech in Noise which is useless for me. Noise dampens all sound though so I have to listen intently to track the speech. With Airplane, less so.

I go back to Costco Nov 05 and will definitely inquire about airplane mode. Thx for the feedback
