Phonak Audeo Paradise RT and RL

Hello!

I’m not sure of the difference between the Phonak Audeo Paradise RT and RL models besides . I know the R stands for rechargeable.

What does the L stand for?

The L is for the new Paradise Life that came out a couple months ago (I just started a trial with them today.) From a sound processing point of view, they should be the same as the Paradise, though they do contain an extra mic, though I haven’t seen anything official on whether or how it makes it better than the regular Paradise. The hardware is slightly different as they’re advertised to be fully waterproof (though the receivers themselves still are not), and slightly larger than the P-R, but very similar in size to the P-RT. They also come with a portable charger with a built in battery that is supposed to hold 3 full charges.

You would speculate that an extra mic is related to reduced sensitivity due to the enhanced waterproofing. Total speculation though. I also understand that they charge inductively rather than via exposed contacts.

The Life are only waterproof up to 50 cm in the water. Not much at all.

I guess if someone sweats a lot, then it’ll be good for that.

Someone on my lip reading course got the P90 Life yesterday. She’s very impressed with them. So far so good altho early days.

Interesting! The audiologists I’ve talked to about the Audeo Life say it won’t be available in the U.S. until 2022. Is your friend in another country?

Oh I see you’re in England. It’s very possible it could be offered there and elsewhere.

Phonak isn’t advertising it yet directly on their website.

Pretty sure the same as the P50, P70 and P90, it’s just waterproof to max of 50 cm depth.
