Phonak Audeo V90 receiver keeps coming out

The tip of the receiver wire broke off when I was on an airplane a couple weeks ago. When I got home, I looked up how to remove the receiver wire from the behind-the-ear part (the body). Mine did not look like the video so I could not find the location of the lock pin. I just gave it a strong pull and out it came. I ordered a replacement receiver and yes it fit in the socket very well. But it keeps falling out if I pull on it only slightly.
Since then I have figured out where the retaining pin is hiding and also figured out I must have broken off the tiny ridge or tooth inside that actually locks the receiver wire in place when I pulled the old wire out.
Does anybody know if that internal locking piece - that moves when you press out the locking pin - is a replaceable part, and if it is, how to go about replacing it?

My Audeo B90 size 13 aids do not have a pin. They snap open using a tool to remove and replace the wire.Google your exact model with Phonakpro in the question.

You don’t say what type of Audeo you have but here’s a link for the Audeo V 13.

Thanks for replying. Replacing the wire is no problem. But as you have already seen by reading my post, the problem is in retaining it. That is why I am inquiring about how to open the case and replace the retaining mechanism if that is even possible.

Thanks for the reply and the video too. It does show how to extract a broken off piece of the receiver from the socket and retainer. But that’s not the problem I have before me. As you must have read in my post, I’m having a problem with the retaining mechanism inside the case. I think I damaged it by pulling the receiver wire out without releasing the lock.
Do you know how to open the case and replace the sliding lock piece inside? That’s what the post is about.

What model do you have? Is it a Marvel? Rechargeable or what kind of batteries (may be different enclosure types).

The short answer, though, is “no”, it’s very unlikely that you can get a part like that from Phonak because it would require some disassembly to replace. You’ll probably have to send the aids in to be refurbished.

If it’s not a too-complicated piece, you might be able to get someone with a 3D printer and mechanical aptitude to reproduce the little part.

Thank you for the suggestion. I probably do have to send it or take it to an actual repair place.
The actual title of the post contains the make and model number - Phonak Audeo V90 - it’s the first thing anybody sees; I’ll add that it is the 312T version which just means it takes a 312 battery and has a telephone pickup.
Yeah, looks like I really did a job on the unit by pulling the wire out forcibly.

Thank you – I glossed over the Audeo V and just saw Audeo 90.

If it was a Marvel I was going to offer to look at my retention pin and see if it could be reproduced but better to have it fixed professionally.

In the interim, a little hot glue might hold it on in a non-permanent, non-destructive way.

I think you need to replace the case and your pro can handle that for you in the office, but you would need to call and tell them the situation so they can order the right one, and right color.

Nothing about hearing aids will benefit from “a strong pull”. :grinning:

Don’t I know that now! I only did it because I could not find the lock pin! I concluded that my model didn’t use one. Mine didn’t look like the video. After the fact, I found it of course, and have no trouble releasing it now.

That looks handy. I have been using 6X reading glasses lately for closeup work, seems to work OK for my purposes.
