Phonak C-shells question

Hi all. Just received titanium c-shells. They don’t have any kind of pull tab and the only way to remove them from my ears seems to be by the receiver wire. This seems crazy to me as I would think the stressing of the connection of the wire to the receiver will eventually cause failure. Any ideas about this?

That’s strange. They should have that. Unless by some strange chance the audiolgist requested none. Could also been a mistake by the manufacturer. They should remake at on cost

Mine are like this and I have wondered about wire stress. You can wiggle the mold loose by pressing gently behind your ear as with an in ear aid. Once you get the hang of that the mold will be loose and the wires will just help grab them rather than being used to pull them out. There’s still some wire stress.

How does Phonak attach a plastic pull to the titanium shell? My audiologist seems to think the pulls just break so why bother.

Not sure on the install process. There’s either a hole built-in during 3d printing, or hole is drilled after mold is completed. I would think the audiolgist would also greater knowledge of this. I have seen before that starkey makes phonak molds. There’s some you tube showing the manufacturing process

I recommend mine useful “handbook” with advices about getting (not only) titanium earmold.
This is very strange and I think you should fill the complaint.
